- Associate Attorney - Arizona

Job Summary:
Creditors’ Rights law firm seeking an individual to fill the Associate Attorney position for our Arizona practice. Licensure is required with admission to the Arizona Bar. This position is a State-Level Attorney whose focus will be a combination of review of information at placement of files to determine collection eligibility and Arizona litigation work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.
- Determine eligibility of files for collection efforts and the issuing of demand letters
- Review pleadings, including lawsuits, motions for default judgment, and writs of garnishment
- Review incoming correspondence and motions and take responsive action
- Represent clients in court settings, including default motion hearings, garnishment hearings, and trials
- Represent clients in court-mandated arbitrations
- Attempt settlement with pro se litigants and opposing counsels
- Provide analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks
- Maintain familiarity with state and federal consumer laws and keep abreast of any changes in state or local rules applicable to practice
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Maintenance of professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public
- Ability to prioritize and organize a high volume of information
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
Education and Experience:
- License to practice law in Arizona is required
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws
- Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations
- Ability to draft legal pleadings
- Ability to compose and/or review reports, legal opinions, correspondence, and other documents
- Knowledge of Bankruptcy Law or the FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA is a plus but is not required
- Experience in collection law is a plus but is not required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Frequently required to talk and/or hear, and use hands to type, handle, or touch objects
- Regularly required to stand and walk and may be required to stop, bend, or reach above the shoulders
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at times
