Job Title: Employment Counsel
Volvo Group North America, LLC and Mack Trucks, Inc. are seeking an Employment Counsel to join our Legal & Compliance team in Greensboro, North Carolina. This is a key role supporting two iconic truck brands with a strong North American manufacturing and commercial footprint. We are seeking an experienced, business-minded Employment Counsel to serve as the primary advisor to the People & Culture team and management on employment-related legal issues.

The person in this position plays a vital role as part of the Legal & Compliance team working on-site in Greensboro, North Carolina, and reporting to the General Counsel of Mack Trucks and Volvo Group North America.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Counseling: Providing practical and timely legal advice on hiring, discipline, terminations, accommodations, leaves of absence and various other issues for both hourly and salaried employees.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to federal and state laws, including Title VII, the ADA, the FMLA, and the FLSA.
Litigation Management: Overseeing all employment related litigation by managing outside counsel in a way that achieves favorable results while controlling legal budgets.
Policy Development: Drafting and updating employment related policies, separation agreements, and other documents to align with evolving legal standards.
Internal Investigations: Overseeing sensitive internal investigations.
Education: Providing timely training on employment related legal topics.
Who are you?
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Education: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
Experience: At least 7 years of employment law experience, preferably with a mix of top-tier law firm and in-house experience.
Skills: The ability to understand complex employment related legal issues and provide practical, pragmatic and understandable advice to non-lawyers.
