Pender County Schools (PCS) invites qualified and motivated professionals to apply for the position of Chief Legal Officer – General Counsel. This in-house attorney will serve as the district’s lead legal advisor, providing comprehensive counsel to the Board of Education, Superintendent, and district leadership. The Chief Legal Officer ensures PCS operations comply with all applicable state and federal laws governing public education.

Requirements
Responsibilities include:
- Serving on the superintendent's cabinet
- Providing legal advice on board policy, personnel, contracts, and student matters.
- Representing the PCS Board in administrative hearings and litigation as authorized.
- Drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, policies, and resolutions.
- Advising on legislative and regulatory developments affecting public education.
- Coordinating with outside counsel as needed.
