Description
PRA Group is seeking a California-licensed Managing Attorney to lead litigation strategy, attorney performance, and legal operations. This fully remote role is ideal for an experienced litigator who brings sound judgment, people leadership, and a practical approach to managing risk and driving strong outcomes.
You’ll represent PRA Group and its affiliates in consumer account litigation while coaching attorneys, improving legal workflows, and partnering across the business to ensure matters are handled efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with applicable requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Lead California consumer account litigation strategy, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, settlements, trials, and related proceedings.
- Represent PRA Group and its affiliates in state court and other legal proceedings with strong advocacy and sound risk-based judgment.
- Manage, coach, and develop attorneys, including workload oversight, performance guidance, training, and issue resolution.
- Monitor case activity, reporting, workflows, and litigation trends to support timely, consistent, and high-quality outcomes.
- Stay current on California legal developments, court trends, and opposing counsel strategies that may affect the business.
- Improve attorney workflows, templates, procedures, and best practices to promote consistency and efficiency.
- Partner with legal, compliance, operations, and business teams to provide practical guidance and support informed decision-making.

This role is fully remote within California. Candidates must be able to maintain a professional remote work environment, protect confidential information, use technology effectively, and be available for court appearances, team meetings, and business needs as required.

Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree required.
- Active member in good standing of the California Bar required; additional state bar licenses preferred.
- 5+ years of litigation experience preferred, including pleadings, discovery, motions, settlements, and trials.
- Experience managing attorneys, supervising legal work, or leading attorney workloads strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of consumer credit and collections laws, including FDCPA, FCRA, TILA, ECOA, and applicable California requirements.
- Strong legal research, writing, communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Practical business judgment, attention to detail, and ability to assess risk, balance priorities, and recommend solutions.
- Ability to improve, standardize, and scale legal processes and procedures.
