- Associate Attorney Commercial Real Estate and Development
Description
Murchison, Taylor & Gibson, PLLC, a Wilmington, North Carolina law firm established in 1955, is seeking an associate attorney to join its sophisticated and growing commercial real estate and development practice. Candidates should have 1–4 years of real estate or real estate development experience, with exposure to real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, and development transactions.
Strong candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Commercial real estate closings, including land, industrial, office, retail, shopping center, and investment transactions
- Commercial real estate leasing
- Commercial real estate financing and loan transactions
- Real estate development, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, condominium, marina, and planned community projects
- Title review, including independent title searches, review of paralegal title work, analysis of title matters, and development of curative solutions
- Land use, zoning, permitting, and entitlements
- Property owners’ associations and condominium associations
Experience in the following related practice areas is helpful but not required:
- Real estate-related litigation
- Environmental matters affecting real estate transactions and development
- Corporate, trust, and estate matters
- Interstate Land Sales Act and multi-state property registration acts
The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills; strong technology skills; close attention to detail; a client-focused approach; and the ability to work well under pressure while producing consistent, high-quality work.
Although prior commercial real estate experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate who is interested in building a long-term legal career in Wilmington.
