Duffy & Duffy, PLLC is seeking an experienced and motivated attorney to handle all aspects of Surrogate's Court matters as part of our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience in estate administration, probate proceedings, guardianships, and related Surrogate's Court litigation. This position offers the opportunity to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and staff in a well-established law firm.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Handle probate and administration proceedings from inception through completion.
Prepare and file petitions, accountings, and related Surrogate's Court documents.
Manage estate administration matters.
Appear in Surrogate's Court and attend conferences and hearings.
Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, and court personnel.
Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and correspondence.
Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Admission to practice law in New York.
Minimum of 3 years of Surrogate's Court experience preferred.
Strong drafting, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage a caseload independently.
Experience with estate and trust administration strongly preferred
