Contract Attorney (1099) – Demand Letter Review – Fully Remote
Iron Gate Law Group, a consumer legal services firm based in Keller, Texas, is engaging an attorney licensed in Washington to serve as the reviewing and signing attorney for consumer demand letters in Washington. This is a fully remote independent contractor engagement designed to fit alongside an existing practice.
The Role
Our staff prepares each demand letter. Your role is to review the letter, approve it for issuance under your signature on firm letterhead, or direct the paralegal we assign to you regarding any revisions needed before approval. All work flows through a dedicated ClickUp channel. You must respond to messages directed to you within two working days.
There are no court appearances, client meetings, travel, or billable-hour requirements. You set your own schedule and work from wherever you choose. The number of letters varies from day to day.
Requirements
* Licensed to practice law in Washington for at least five continuous years;
* Active license and current good standing in every jurisdiction of admission;
* No public disciplinary history and no pending grievance, disciplinary proceeding, or malpractice claim;
* Maintain active professional liability (legal malpractice) insurance throughout the engagement and provide proof of coverage upon request;
* Sound professional judgment and comfort reviewing consumer demand letters efficiently; and
* Reliable availability during the work week.
Compensation and Terms
Compensation is a flat engagement fee of $500 per month, paid regardless of the number of letters in a given period.
This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement. The firm maintains professional liability insurance covering work performed for the firm. You remain free to maintain your own practice.
