Fisher Phillips, one of the oldest and largest labor and employment law firms representing management, has an opportunity for an experienced attorney with a strong background in employment law, including trade secret and restrictive covenant litigation, to join our Employee Defection and Trade Secrets (EDTS) practice in our Virtual Office as Counsel or Special Counsel.

This mostly remote role will focus on sophisticated EDTS matters, including trade secret litigation, restrictive covenant disputes, employee mobility matters, and emergency injunctive proceedings. Working closely with local partners, you will handle substantive legal work and play an active role in managing matters from inception through resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement case strategy
• Draft complaints, pleadings, motions, and other substantive legal documents
• Handle discovery, including expedited discovery in connection with injunction proceedings
• Prepare for and conduct depositions
• Handle appearances at hearings and other court proceedings
• Conduct legal research and manage day-to-day case matters
• Collaborate with EDTS partners and attorneys throughout the firm
  
  

Qualifications

• Meaningful experience litigating trade secret and restrictive covenant matters in federal and state court
• Experience with temporary restraining orders, preliminary injunctions, and expedited discovery as part of the injunction process
• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active bar membership in good standing; preference for bar admissions in Arizona, Nevada and/or California
• Ability to manage multiple matters and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
• Experience with computer forensics, electronically stored information, and e-discovery is preferred
  
  

This role provides the opportunity to handle sophisticated, hands-on EDTS matters within a collaborative, partner-led team. The Virtual Office provides flexibility while maintaining the fast-paced nature of an EDTS litigation practice, with no business development pressure. You will also have the support of paralegals and a shared secretarial pool.

There may be some travel, primarily local, involved with this role.

The annual salary range for this position is $140,000 – $217,500. Actual base compensation will be determined based on factors including bar admissions, the selected billable hours target, experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
