Position:                  SENIOR ASSISTANT COUNTY ATTORNEY – Civil Litigation

Salary:                    Negotiable, depending on qualifications

Department:            County Attorney/Martinez Workgroup

Location:                 300 N. Dixie Highway, Suite 359, WPB

Hours:                     8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday – Friday, may be required to work during emergencies

The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, through its County Attorney’s Office, is accepting applications for the position of Senior Assistant County Attorney – Civil Litigation. This position is open to qualified senior-level civil litigators with jury trial experience.

The selected attorney will represent Palm Beach County in a broad range of civil litigation matters, including complex litigation, and provide legal advice and strategic litigation counsel to County departments and elected officials.

Minimum Qualifications:  

•        Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar (required)
•        Excellent academic credentials
•        Demonstrated ability to handle civil litigation matters with professionalism and sound judgment

Experience Levels Considered:

•        10+ years of civil litigation with jury trials and substantial case-management responsibility
•        Experience independently managing complex litigation matters
•        Ability to provide strategic guidance and mentor junior attorneys as appropriate

Preference Given To:

Civil litigation involving governmental entities or practice in local government, complex, or commercial litigation. Strong legal research, writing, advocacy, and oral presentation skills.  Professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and diligent work ethic.
